Coffee Creek Studio ~ Indianapolis Newborn Photographer

Almost every single newborn session I do has some moment that is extra special. This newborn session was an extra special moment in it’s entirety.

Newborn baby boy Tate’s parents are long time clients who have turned into very good friends. I did their engagement session, their wedding photography, their maternity sessions, and their first son’s newborn session, as well as family sessions over the years. Their second baby, Tate, was born early and spent the first several months of his life in the NICU. Finally, when he was able to come home, with a few “attachments”, we scheduled his newborn session.

Before I became a photographer I was an ER nurse for 11 years. My experience in nursing has absolutely given me skills I need to take care of babies as special as Tate during a photography session. I’m so glad that they entrusted me to capture these images for them.

Tate is obviously already a super hero, and for that reason we knew he needed his very own costume. Some of my favorite images are these poses where he looks strong and like he’s ready to go battle whatever may come!

We got to do all the normal newborn poses of Tate and I was so thankful for that. As you can see, he was slightly cranky when we were doing family poses, but that is real life with a baby, so we kept those images. He settled right down pretty quickly. When he was with Mom and Dad and big brother he felt safe as can be and I love the comfort you could tell Tate had in their arms.

I’m so blessed to know this family, and I know that Tate is going to keep fighting the good fight, what an inspiration he is to all of us.
